Midwestern State athletics has a rich tradition of success both on the playing field and in the classroom. Listed below are MSU student-athletes who have been selected as Academic All Americans by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA).

Softball standout Lauren Craig became the school's second first-team Academic All-American following the 2009 season and joins a list of eight student athlete to earn top academic honors since 1994.

The Academic All-America teams consist of first-, second- and third-teamers. Those scholars are selected from student-athletes who were selected to the academic all-district first team. Currently, there are eight academic districts with Midwestern State occupying District VI.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.3. cumulative GPA and be a starter or key reserve. Athletes must be a sophomore in academic standing and complete a year of residency at their current institution. The administration and voting for all phases of the academic all-America team process is conducted by members of CoSIDA sponsored by ESPN The Magazine.
