WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Head coach
Scott Linn and the Midwestern State women's tennis program announced the signing of Wichita Falls native and Rider High School product Maddie Rowe to a National Letter of Intent Tuesday morning. Rowe is the first signee in the 2017 class.
A 2014 mixed doubles state qualifier, Rowe has helped the Lady Raiders to four-straight regional semifinal appearances and District 5-5A Championships under head coach Kyle Apperson. Rowe was a third-place regional finisher in mixed doubles in 2015 while claiming fourth at the regional tournament in girls doubles in 2016.
Rowe is ranked 67th in the state of Texas according to tennisrecruiting.net and was a USTA Super Champ before signing with the Mustangs. She is the daughter of Charles and Nicole Rowe and has one brother, Alex Smith.
Midwestern State is coming off its fourth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance in 2016 with a showing in the South Central Region #2 Championship in May. The Mustangs began their dual season Jan. 19 with an exhibition at UT Arlington at the UTA Tennis Center in Arlington.
