Venera Flores-Stafford serves as Midwestern State's Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations and is the Senior Woman Administrator.

Flores-Stafford previously spent 11 seasons (2004-14) at the helm of the Midwestern State volleyball program, guiding the Mustangs to a 179-171 (.511) mark to become the winningest coach in program history.

Flores-Stafford averaged 16 wins per campaign and led the Mustangs to the Lone Star Conference Championships in seven of her 11 seasons including the program's first trip to the NCAA Division II postseason in 2007.

MSU rolled to a 27-6 mark (.818) in 2007 including a 10-2 Lone Star Conference record and advanced to the NCAA Division II Southwest Regional where it fell to the eventual regional champion, West Texas A&M. The Mustangs rode the momentum into the 2008 season, opening the season on a program-best 18-game winning streak before closing the year with a 25-9 record (.735) while advancing to the Lone Star Conference Tournament for the third time in four seasons.

Her record marks an amazing turnaround for a program which had won just 59 matches over the six seasons prior to her arrival.

But Flores-Stafford is no stranger to building volleyball programs.

She took over a University of Dallas program which posted a .196 winning percentage (31-127) in 1998, but under the direction of Flores-Stafford, the Crusaders won 108 matches and produced five-straight winning seasons highlighted by a 22-win season in 2001.

She produced similar results when she arrived in Wichita Falls just two months before the start of the 2004 season.

MSU struggled to a 12-19 mark in her first season, but with one full year and a recruiting season behind her, Flores-Stafford guided the Mustangs to a 26-12 mark in 2005 before finishing 16-14 in 2006.

It was the first time the MSU volleyball program produced consecutive winning seasons since the 1992-93 campaign.

Flores-Stafford is an active member of the NCAA community having served on the NCAA Leadership Institute for Minority Females, the NCAA’s Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee and the NCAA Division III South Region Volleyball Advisory Committee.

A native of El Paso, Flores-Stafford attended the University of Dallas where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1995, a Masters in Business Administration in 1998 and a Masters in Sports Management in 2003.

She married Marquis Stafford on New Year’s Day of 2006.

The couple, which resides in Wichita Falls, are the proud parents to one daughter -- Taytum (7).
